ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 16-inch workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad T1g Gen 8 21TD000UUS is a 16-inch mobile workstation running Windows 11 Pro. It combines an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor with 32 GB LPDDR5X memory at 7467 MHz and a 1 TB SSD. The 16.0-inch IPS panel delivers a 3840 x 2400 WQUXGA resolution at 60 Hz.

Suited for GPU-accelerated workflows.

Creative professionals and engineers who need NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics with 8 GB GDDR7 video memory in a portable chassis will benefit. The vPro and Intel Evo platform features support managed deployments and responsiveness. Buyers who need more video memory for very large models or textures should look elsewhere.

8 GB GDDR7 video memory on the RTX 5070

The discrete GPU provides 8 GB of GDDR7 memory, which determines the maximum model size and texture resolution that can reside entirely on the card. This capacity fits many professional 3D, rendering and simulation tasks but limits the largest datasets that require more VRAM.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 32 GB LPDDR5X 7467 MHz memory or a smaller capacity?

The model ships with 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory at 7467 MHz; no smaller capacity is offered for this part number.

What does the 5.40 GHz turbo frequency deliver in everyday work?

The Intel Core Ultra 9 285H can boost to 5.40 GHz for short bursts, speeding up single-threaded tasks such as compile jobs or spreadsheet recalculations before thermal limits bring clocks down.

What does Wi-Fi 7 cap in real use?

Wi-Fi 7 supports multi-link operation and wider channels, so sustained throughput is limited mainly by the router and congestion rather than the laptop radio.
