Business laptop for travel

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a 14 inch laptop built around an Intel Core i5-5300U processor running at 2.3 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR3 memory and a 512GB SSD. Windows 10 Home is pre-installed on a 64 bit architecture. The chassis uses the classic dark grey ThinkPad design and includes a webcam for video calls.

Suits mobile office work, not creative production

This configuration fits professionals who need a lightweight machine for email, documents and web apps while moving between meetings. Buyers who require a touchscreen, a higher resolution panel or discrete graphics for video editing or 3D tasks should look at other models. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 uses shared system memory and is intended for standard desktop workloads.

1366 x 768 non-touch display

The screen measures 14.0 inches diagonally and uses LED backlighting with a 1366 by 768 pixel resolution. It does not support touch input. This specification determines whether the visual workspace matches your daily tasks, especially if you rely on multi-window layouts or need sharper text rendering.

Questions about this item

How much heat and fan noise does the Intel Core i5-5300U produce when the laptop runs all day?

The dual-core 2.3 GHz Broadwell processor is a low-power design, so the cooling fan stays quiet during typical office workloads and only spins up under sustained heavy load.

Which cables or peripherals must I already own to use the video output and wired network ports?

You need a Mini DisplayPort cable or adapter for external monitors and a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable for the Gigabit LAN port; three USB 3.0 ports are also available for other devices.

Will the DDR3 memory and 1366 x 768 panel work smoothly with older ThinkPad docks and external displays I still use?

The laptop uses DDR3 SODIMM modules and a Mini DisplayPort output, so it connects directly to legacy ThinkPad docking stations and older monitors without extra converters.
