14.0" ThinkPad for Windows 7 deployments

This Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a 14.0-inch notebook powered by a dual-core Intel Core i7-5600U processor running at 2.60 GHz with 4 MB L2 cache. It ships with 8 GB of memory and integrated HD Graphics 5500 driving a 1600 x 900 HD+ display. The system arrives new with Windows 7 Professional pre-installed.

Suited for managed fleets.

The notebook supports IEEE 802.11ac wireless and Bluetooth connectivity, includes a webcam, and runs on a 3-cell lithium-ion battery weighing 3.81 lb. It suits IT teams maintaining legacy Windows 7 environments or specialised software that depends on that platform. Buyers who need a supported operating system, newer wireless standards, or higher display resolution should look elsewhere.

16 GB memory ceiling determines upgrade scope

The platform accepts a maximum of 16 GB of memory, so the installed 8 GB can be doubled once. This limit defines whether the device can handle the workloads you plan to run. No optical drive is fitted, and the integrated graphics share system memory.

Questions about this item

How far can the 3-cell battery take the i7-5600U before it needs a recharge?

The 3-cell lithium-ion pack powers the 2.60 GHz dual-core processor and 14.0" HD+ panel, but exact runtime varies with workload and brightness.

How hot or loud does the HD Graphics 5500 get when the 1600 x 900 display runs all day?

Integrated HD Graphics 5500 shares the CPU thermal zone; the single fan stays quiet under light loads and spins up only during sustained heavy tasks.

Which peripherals must I already own to use the IEEE 802.11ac wireless and the HD+ screen?

A compatible 802.11ac router or access point is required for wireless; the built-in 14.0" 1600 x 900 panel needs no external display.
