ThinkPad T450 for everyday office work

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around an Intel Core i5 5th Gen dual‑core processor running at 2.20GHz with 8GB of memory. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a 1600 x 900 HD+ non‑touch display, making it suitable for general business tasks, web browsing and document editing.

250GB SATA drive and 8GB RAM headroom

The 250GB SATA hard drive provides basic storage for the operating system and typical office files, but fills quickly with large media libraries or multiple virtual machines. Two memory slots allow expansion beyond the installed 8GB, while the integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles standard video playback and light graphical workloads.

Upgrading from older Core i3 or 4GB systems

Users moving from a previous generation dual‑core machine with 4GB of RAM will notice smoother multitasking and faster boot times with the pre‑installed Windows 10 Pro image. The jump is less compelling for anyone who needs a solid‑state drive, a higher resolution screen or dedicated graphics for creative applications.

Questions about this item

Will the 14.0" 1600 x 900 HD+ screen and USB ports work with my older ThinkPad docking station?

The T450 uses a proprietary rectangular docking connector on the bottom; the three USB ports and 14.0" 1600 x 900 HD+ panel are built-in and do not rely on the dock for basic operation.

How can I verify the Intel Core i5 5th Gen 2.20GHz and Intel HD Graphics 5500 are running correctly after first boot?

Open Task Manager > Performance and confirm the CPU shows 2.20GHz base speed with four logical processors and the GPU lists Intel HD Graphics 5500.

Does the box include a SATA caddy or cable if I want to add a second 250GB drive, or must I buy one separately?

The laptop ships with the 250GB SATA drive installed, Windows 10 Pro recovery image, AC adapter and battery; a second drive caddy and SATA cable are not included.
