ThinkPad T450S 14.0 inch business Ultrabook

This 14.0 inch Lenovo ThinkPad T450S is a business Ultrabook running Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit. It uses an Intel Core i5-5300U processor at 2.3 GHz with 8GB memory and a 128GB SATA 2.5 inch SSD. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 5500 handles the display. The unit is new and includes an AC adapter.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

Buyers needing a lightweight 14.0 inch Windows 10 Pro laptop with 8GB memory and integrated graphics for office tasks. Not for users who require a webcam, touchscreen, Bluetooth or a discrete graphics card. Also unsuitable for anyone needing more than 12 GB maximum memory or storage beyond the 128GB SSD.

Deciding specification: 128GB SATA SSD

The 128GB SATA 2.5 inch SSD and 12 GB maximum supported memory define whether this T450S fits the workload. If the application demands larger internal storage or more than 12 GB RAM, this unit will not meet the requirement.

Questions about this item

Which memory option should I choose between the installed 8 GB and the 12 GB maximum supported?

The laptop ships with 8 GB already fitted; the 12 GB ceiling means you can add a single 4 GB module later if workloads demand more headroom.

What does the 2.3 GHz Core i5-5300U deliver in daily use?

The dual-core 2.3 GHz processor with integrated HD 5500 graphics handles web browsing, document editing and video playback smoothly within its low-power envelope.

How does the SATA 2.5″ 128 GB SSD perform compared with faster interfaces?

The SATA 2.5″ 128 GB SSD provides solid boot and application launch speeds, though its sequential throughput is capped by the SATA interface rather than newer protocols.
