Lenovo ThinkPad T450s 14.0 inch Ultrabook

This laptop suits professionals who need a portable Windows 10 Pro machine with a 14.0 inch display. The Intel Core i5-5300U processor and 8GB DDR4 memory handle everyday office tasks and web browsing. Buyers who want more storage or a touchscreen should consider other options.

Thermals noise and power draw

The U-series processor runs at up to 2.3GHz within a slim ultrabook chassis designed for quiet operation. Integrated graphics and solid-state storage keep heat output low during typical workloads. Fan activity remains modest for standard productivity use.

256GB SSD and 1920 x 1080 non-touch screen

The 256GB solid-state drive provides fast boot and application loading without moving parts. A 1920 x 1080 resolution non-touch panel delivers clear visuals for documents and media. This specification defines whether the storage capacity and display type match your workflow.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 8GB DDR4 memory module, and what step do people often miss?

Power off the laptop, remove the bottom cover, insert the DDR4 stick at a 30-degree angle until it clicks, then secure the retaining clips; the step often missed is pressing both clips inward until they lock the module flat.

What maintenance will the 256GB SSD need later?

The SSD has no moving parts and requires no scheduled maintenance; keep at least 10 percent free space, run TRIM via Windows 10 Pro optimisation, and avoid filling the drive to maintain write speed.

What limit appears first during sustained load on the i5-5300U?

The dual-core processor reaches its thermal ceiling under prolonged 2.3 GHz turbo, causing the firmware to throttle clocks to stay within the cooling capacity of the 14.0 inch chassis.
