ThinkPad T450s 14-inch Ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450s is a 14.0-inch ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U processor running at 2.3 GHz with 12GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB SSD. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and includes a webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The non-touch display offers a 1600x900 resolution driven by Intel HD Graphics 520.

Upgrade from older dual-core ultrabooks

This unit replaces ageing dual-core ultrabooks that struggle with modern multitasking and lack solid-state storage. The jump is worth it when you need four logical threads, 12GB of system memory and a 256GB SSD for responsive boot times and application loads. Buyers who want more storage or a higher-resolution panel should look elsewhere.

Fits a mobile productivity build

The T450s slots into a mobile productivity build as the primary compute device, supplying the CPU, memory, storage, webcam and wireless connectivity in one chassis. It frees you from carrying a separate dock for basic I/O and relies on the integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 for everyday visual tasks. The package includes the laptop, battery and AC adaptor.

Questions about this item

What physical space is needed for the 14.0" 1600x900 non-touch screen?

The 14.0 inch chassis fits a 1600 by 900 non-touch panel with standard ultrabook bezels and hinge clearance.

How is the 12GB DDR4 memory installed, and what step is often missed?

Two slots hold the 12GB DDR4; the common error is seating only one module and leaving the second slot empty.

Which replaceable part will need attention after repeated charge cycles?

The internal battery is the only user-replaceable power component and will degrade with cycle count.
