The Lenovo ThinkPad T460 is a 14.0" FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor at 2.60 GHz with turbo up to 3.40 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR3 memory and a new 1TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. The Intel HD Graphics 520 drives the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. No operating system is installed.

Memory and storage installation

The laptop provides two memory slots supporting up to 32 GB total DDR3 capacity. The M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD slot accepts the pre-installed 1TB drive. Installation requires removing the base cover and handling small screws; take care not to strip the screw heads or damage the ribbon cables.

Pre-order compatibility checks

Verify that you have a legitimate Windows licence or alternative OS media ready for installation. Confirm the DDR3 SO-DIMM form factor if you plan to add memory beyond the fitted 16GB. Ensure any external dock or monitor matches the available video outputs on this model.

Questions about this item

How can I confirm the Intel Core i7-6600U is running at its 3.40 GHz turbo frequency after setup?

Open Task Manager in Windows or use a Linux monitoring tool to watch the live CPU clock; sustained loads should push the dual-core processor toward its 3.40 GHz turbo ceiling.

What items are included and what must I supply myself?

The box contains the ThinkPad T460 with its 14.0" FHD 1920 x 1080 display, 16GB DDR3 memory, and a NEW 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD; you must provide an operating system and any external peripherals.

Should I choose the 16GB DDR3 configuration or plan to expand to the 32 GB maximum?

The laptop ships with 16GB DDR3 across two slots; if your workloads regularly exceed that, the 32 GB ceiling allows a future upgrade, otherwise the factory amount is ready to use.
