ThinkPad T460 14" FHD business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T460 is a 14.0 inch Full HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6500U dual-core processor at 2.50 GHz with turbo up to 3.10 GHz. It comes with 8GB DDR3 memory and a new 2TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing screen space

This laptop suits users who want a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display and a large 2TB solid-state drive in a compact 14 inch chassis. It is not for buyers who need a touchscreen, a dedicated graphics card, or memory beyond the 32 GB maximum supported by the two DDR3 slots.

Dual-core i7-6500U with 3.10 GHz turbo

The Intel Core i7-6500U provides two cores and a maximum turbo frequency of 3.10 GHz, which determines how quickly the system handles everyday office workloads and light multitasking. This specification is the key factor in deciding whether the performance level matches your requirements.

Questions about this item

Does this ThinkPad T460 need a separate power adapter to run the Intel Core i7-6500U and 14.0" FHD display?

The laptop ships with its own 65 W AC adapter, so no extra power supply is required for the CPU, 1920 x 1080 screen or 2TB SSD.

Can I keep my existing DDR3 SODIMM modules when upgrading the 8GB memory toward the 32 GB maximum?

Yes, the system uses DDR3 SODIMMs across both slots, so compatible modules you already own can be reused during a memory upgrade.

How do I confirm the 2TB SATA SSD is recognised at full capacity after the first boot?

Open File Explorer or Disk Management in Windows 10 Home 64-bit and verify the drive shows roughly 2 TB of usable space.
