ThinkPad T460 14" HD business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T460 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop built for office and mobile professionals. It runs Windows 10 Pro on a dual-core Intel Core i7-6600U processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency. The 1366 x 768 non-touch display keeps the chassis compact for daily carry.

16GB DDR3 and new 240GB SATA SSD

Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 memory across two slots allows smooth multitasking with many browser tabs and office applications open. The new 240GB 2.5-inch SATA SSD replaces any mechanical drive, cutting boot time and application launch delays. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed and ready for domain join or encryption.

Dual-core headroom and 32 GB ceiling

The dual-core i7-6600U handles document editing, video calls and light spreadsheet work without strain. Heavy rendering, modern gaming or large virtual-machine fleets will hit the two-core limit quickly. Memory upgrades stop at 32 GB, so workloads needing more RAM must look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Can the 16GB DDR3 be upgraded later if I need more memory?

The laptop has two memory slots and supports up to 32GB total, so you can add another DDR3 module or replace both to reach the maximum.

Will the Intel HD Graphics 520 throttle during long rendering sessions?

The integrated GPU shares system memory and cooling with the dual-core i7-6600U, so sustained heavy workloads will hit thermal limits before the graphics engine itself saturates.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis feel after a full workday?

Under typical office loads the fan stays quiet and the palm-rest remains warm but comfortable; extended high CPU usage spins the fan higher and raises surface temperature noticeably.
