ThinkPad T460 14" HD laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T460 is a 14.0 inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. It includes 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 500GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The system ships with Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64-bit installed.

New 500GB SSD and Windows 10 Home

The new 500GB SATA solid-state drive replaces any original hard drive, providing faster boot and application load times. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed and ready to use. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles the 1366 x 768 display output. The non-touch screen keeps the design simple.

Mobile professionals needing a durable 14 inch

This model suits users who want a classic ThinkPad keyboard, TrackPoint navigation and a rugged chassis for office or travel work. The 8GB DDR3 memory and dual-core i7 processor handle everyday productivity tasks. Buyers who need a higher resolution display, touchscreen input, dedicated graphics or more than 32GB of maximum memory should look at other options.

Questions about this item

Can the 8GB DDR3 memory be upgraded later and how many slots are free?

The laptop has two memory slots and supports up to 32GB total, so additional DDR3 modules can be added if a slot is free.

Will the dual-core i7-6600U throttle first under a long heavy workload?

The dual-core processor and integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 share a thermal envelope, so sustained load will hit CPU thermal limits before other components.

How loud and hot does the 14" HD chassis get when running all day?

Passive SSD storage means no drive noise, and the low-voltage processor keeps fan activity moderate during extended use.
