ThinkPad T460 for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad T460 is a 14.1 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5 2.40GHz processor with 16GB of memory and a 512GB solid state drive. It ships with Windows 10 Pro installed and includes wireless networking. This configuration suits office workers and students who need a reliable daily driver.

Windows 10 Pro and charger included

A fresh copy of Windows 10 Pro is pre-loaded so the machine is ready to use without extra licencing steps. An AC adapter is supplied, either a new third-party unit or an original used one, and the battery is functional. No additional software bundles or peripherals are mentioned in the supplier data.

Simple setup with cosmetic compromises

Installation is straightforward: connect the charger, power on and follow the Windows welcome screens. Because these are Grade B units, expect minor dings, dents or screen imperfections, possible key fading and occasional speaker static. The hardware is fully tested, but buyers who want a pristine appearance should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the 512GB SSD need replacement if it wears out?

The 512GB solid-state drive is user-replaceable, so it can be swapped for a new unit if capacity or health becomes an issue.

What limits performance first during a long compile or render?

The dual-core i5-6300U at 2.40GHz hits its thermal ceiling before the 16GB memory fills, so the processor throttles first.

How loud and hot does the 14.1" chassis get when left on all day?

Fan noise stays at office-background level and the palm rest warms to the touch, but the system remains stable through an eight-hour session.
