ThinkPad T460 for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T460 is a 14.0" HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-6500U dual-core processor running at 2.50 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.10 GHz. It comes with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed on this new unit.

Check memory slots and display needs

The system includes two memory slots and supports up to 32 GB of RAM, so verify whether the current 8GB configuration meets your workload or if an upgrade is required. The 1366 x 768 non-touch HD panel is fixed, so confirm this resolution suits your daily tasks before ordering.

Replaces older dual-core ultraportables

This T460 upgrades from earlier dual-core ultraportables that lack NVMe storage and 6th generation Intel architecture. The jump is worth it when you need faster boot and application load times from the 240GB SSD and the efficiency of the i7-6500U for office productivity on the move.

Questions about this item

Does the ThinkPad T460 come with a charger and are any accessories missing?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed, 8 GB DDR3 memory and the new 240 GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD already fitted. A power adapter is included; no further components are required to start working.

Should I pick the 8 GB DDR3 model or look for a 32 GB upgrade?

The unit has 8 GB DDR3 installed across two slots and supports up to 32 GB total. If you run virtual machines or large datasets, plan to add memory; otherwise the factory 8 GB is adequate for office tasks.

What does the 3.10 GHz turbo frequency mean for everyday speed?

The dual-core i7-6500U runs at 2.50 GHz base and can reach 3.10 GHz on short bursts, so web browsing, document editing and video playback feel responsive while the 240 GB NVMe SSD keeps boot and app launches quick.
