ThinkPad T460 14" FHD laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T460 is a 14.0-inch FHD laptop built for mobile professionals who need a reliable Windows 10 Home machine. It runs on an Intel Core i7-6600U dual-core processor with a 3.40 GHz turbo frequency and 16GB of DDR3 memory. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display provides crisp visuals for office tasks.

240GB M.2 NVMe SSD and Windows 10 Home

A new 240GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD replaces any older mechanical drive, giving faster boot and application load times than a traditional hard disk. Windows 10 Home 64-bit is pre-installed and activated, so the system is ready to use without additional setup. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles everyday video and light graphical work.

Suited for office and mobile use.

This configuration suits users who prioritise a compact 14-inch form factor, a mature operating system and solid-state responsiveness for general productivity. Buyers who need a dedicated GPU for rendering, gaming or GPU-accelerated workloads should consider a different system. The 16GB DDR3 memory can be expanded to 32GB if future workloads demand more capacity.

Questions about this item

Can the 16 GB DDR3 memory be expanded later?

Yes, the laptop has two memory slots and supports up to 32 GB total, so an additional 16 GB DDR3 module can be fitted.

What limits performance first during long heavy workloads?

The dual-core i7-6600U with Intel HD Graphics 520 will hit its thermal ceiling before the 240 GB NVMe SSD becomes a bottleneck.

How loud and hot does the ThinkPad T460 get when running all day?

Under sustained load the dual-core processor and integrated graphics generate noticeable heat and fan noise, typical for a 14.0" ultrabook chassis.
