ThinkPad T470 14-inch FHD business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is a 14.0-inch Full HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz. It comes equipped with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. The unit is sold in black without an operating system installed.

Suits mobile professionals needing maximum factory

This configuration targets users who require 32GB of RAM immediately for demanding multitasking or virtualisation workloads. The memory slots are fully populated at the supported maximum, so there is no room for future expansion. Buyers who anticipate needing more than 32GB should consider a platform with higher capacity support.

32GB DDR4 at the 32GB system limit

The single decisive specification is the 32GB DDR4 configuration which matches the maximum memory supported by this model. With both slots occupied, the system cannot accept additional RAM. Confirm that this ceiling meets your workload requirements before purchase.

Questions about this item

Does the i5-7300U throttle under continuous multi-core load?

The dual-core i5-7300U reaches a 3.50 GHz turbo frequency, but sustained all-core performance will be limited by the cooling capacity of the 14.0" chassis.

How loud and hot does the T470 get during an all-day workload?

With Intel HD Graphics 620 and a dual-core processor, the system generates moderate heat; fan noise becomes noticeable under prolonged load but remains within typical business-laptop levels.

What operating system licence do I need to supply myself?

The laptop ships with no operating system installed, so you must provide your own Windows or Linux licence and installation media.
