Lenovo ThinkPad T470 14 FHD

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz. It comes with 16GB DDR4 memory and a NEW 128GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The unit is sold without an operating system, so the buyer must supply and install their own Windows or alternative OS.

No OS means you add the software

Because no operating system is installed, the buyer acquires and installs their own version of Windows or another OS. The 16GB DDR4 memory uses both slots and can be expanded to 32 GB total. The 128GB SSD provides the primary storage on a SATA interface. Intel HD Graphics 620 handles the 1920 x 1080 display output.

Straightforward hardware setup

The 2.5 inch SATA SSD and DDR4 modules are accessible for replacement or upgrade using standard tools. Installation of the chosen operating system is required before first use, so prepare installation media and drivers in advance. The 365 day parts and labour warranty covers hardware defects during that period.

Questions about this item

Can the 128GB 2.5" SATA SSD be swapped for a larger drive later?

Yes, the 2.5" SATA bay accepts standard SATA SSDs so you can replace the 128GB unit with a higher-capacity drive.

Will the Intel HD Graphics 620 throttle during long rendering sessions?

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 shares system memory and thermal headroom with the dual-core i5-7300U, so sustained heavy GPU loads will hit thermal limits before the CPU reaches its 3.50 GHz turbo.

How loud does the fan get when the i5-7300U runs at 3.50 GHz all day?

Under continuous turbo the dual-core chip draws its full TDP, so the single fan spins up to an audible but not distracting level typical for a 14.0" business chassis.
