ThinkPad T480 14.0" FHD i5-7200U 32GB 2TB SSD

The ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-7200U dual-core processor running at 2.50 GHz with a turbo frequency of 3.10 GHz. It comes with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a new 2TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. The system ships without an operating system.

Check before ordering

Verify that you can supply and install your own operating system because none is included. The memory is already at the maximum supported capacity of 32 GB across two slots so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The storage uses a 2.5 inch SATA interface; confirm this matches your drive expectations. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles the 1920 x 1080 display.

Thermals noise power in normal use

The low-power dual-core processor and integrated graphics keep heat output modest during typical office tasks. Fan noise remains low for everyday workloads such as document editing and web browsing. Power draw stays within the limits of the standard Lenovo adapter supplied with the unit. The 365 day parts and labor warranty covers the hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the ThinkPad T480 come with an operating system, or do I need to buy and install Windows separately?

The laptop ships with no operating system installed, so you must acquire and install your own copy of Windows or another OS before you can use it.

The spec sheet shows 32 GB DDR4 and two memory slots with a 32 GB maximum — is this the only memory configuration available?

Yes, the unit already contains the full 32 GB DDR4 supported by the two slots, so there is no room to add more memory.

The 2 TB SSD uses a 2.5-inch SATA interface — will that drive speed feel slow compared to a modern drive in daily use?

The 2 TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD delivers solid performance for everyday tasks, though it is not as fast as newer PCIe-based drives.
