Lenovo ThinkPad T480 14" FHD laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14-inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with a turbo frequency up to 3.50 GHz. It comes equipped with 32GB DDR4 memory and a new 240GB 2.5" SATA SSD. The system ships with no operating system installed.

32GB DDR4 and 240GB SATA SSD ready

The memory is already at the maximum supported capacity of 32GB across two slots, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. The 2.5-inch SATA drive bay holds the included 240GB SSD, leaving no internal 2.5-inch bay free for an additional hard drive. Intel HD Graphics 620 handles video output on the non-touch 1920 x 1080 display.

Suits buyers who will install their own OS

This unit is aimed at users comfortable acquiring and installing Windows or Linux themselves. It is not suited for anyone who needs a machine that boots to a desktop out of the box. Buyers wanting more than 240GB of internal storage or a discrete graphics option should look at other models.

Questions about this item

How does the Intel Core i5-7300U handle sustained workloads before thermal limits appear?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.60 GHz base and can reach 3.50 GHz turbo; under continuous load the chip will throttle to stay within its thermal envelope.

What noise and heat levels should I expect when the laptop runs all day?

Intel HD Graphics 620 and the low-power CPU keep thermals modest; the internal fan stays quiet during typical office tasks and ramps up only under heavy sustained load.

What must I already own to make this laptop operational?

You need a licensed operating system — Windows or Linux — because the unit ships with no OS installed.
