ThinkPad T480 14.0" HD business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0-inch HD laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with a 3.50 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Build integration with dual memory slots

The system uses DDR4 SO-DIMM modules across two slots and supports up to 32 GB of total memory. The 2.5-inch SATA SSD occupies the primary drive bay. Intel HD Graphics 620 handles display output without a discrete GPU.

Suits OS-flexible deployments, not touchscreen needs

This unit suits buyers who want a durable ThinkPad chassis and plan to install their own Windows or Linux image. It is not for users who require a touchscreen display or a factory-loaded operating system.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i5-7300U at 2.60 GHz throttle under a full-day workload?

The dual-core processor reaches 3.50 GHz turbo but sustained clocks depend on the laptop's thermal design and the task mix.

How loud or hot does the ThinkPad T480 get when running all day?

With Intel HD Graphics 620 and a 2.60 GHz base processor, fan noise and surface temperature rise with load but stay within typical business-laptop limits.

What must I already have to start using this laptop?

You need to supply your own operating system because none is installed, and the 8 GB DDR4 memory and 1 TB SATA SSD are already fitted.
