Ready-to-use business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 ships with a 14.0-inch HD panel showing 1366 x 768 resolution and an Intel Core i5-7300U processor that runs at 2.60 GHz with a 3.50 GHz turbo. It comes equipped with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD installed. No operating system is included, so the buyer installs their preferred OS.

Best for office workflows and legacy software

This configuration suits professionals who need a familiar keyboard, ample RAM for multitasking and a fresh SSD for fast boot times. It is not a fit for users who require a touchscreen, a higher-resolution display or a discrete graphics card for rendering or gaming workloads.

Maxed-out 32GB DDR4 capacity

The system uses two memory slots and reaches the 32GB maximum supported by the platform, so no further RAM upgrades are possible. Buyers who anticipate needing more memory should consider a different chassis.

Questions about this item

How do I install an operating system on a Lenovo ThinkPad T480 that arrives with no OS?

Create bootable media on another PC, insert it into the T480, enter the boot menu at startup, and follow the installer prompts; the 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD will appear as the target drive.

Which component will need replacement first on a ThinkPad T480 with 32GB DDR4 and a 1TB SATA SSD?

The internal battery typically degrades before the soldered 32GB memory or the 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD, so plan a battery swap after a few years of daily cycling.

What performance limit appears first during sustained loads on the i5-7300U with Intel HD Graphics 620?

The dual-core CPU hits its thermal ceiling before the 32GB DDR4 or 1TB SATA SSD saturate, so clock speeds drop to stay within the 3.50 GHz turbo envelope.
