ThinkPad T480 14-inch HD laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0-inch business laptop with a 1366 x 768 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with a 3.60 GHz turbo frequency and Intel UHD Graphics 620. The system includes 16GB of DDR4 memory across two slots and a new 2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. No operating system is installed.

Suited for OS flexibility.

This unit suits buyers who want to install their own choice of operating system on a familiar ThinkPad chassis. The 16GB of installed memory handles typical office multitasking and the 2TB drive provides generous space for local files. Users who need a sharper screen for detailed graphics, video editing or prolonged reading should look at a higher-resolution panel.

2TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD

The storage device is a 2TB solid-state drive in the 2.5-inch form factor with a SATA interface. This single specification determines whether the laptop fits a drive bay or caddy designed for that physical size and connector.

Questions about this item

Will the 16 GB DDR4 memory work with my existing DDR4 modules?

The laptop has two DDR4 slots and supports up to 32 GB, so you can add a matching DDR4 stick alongside the installed 16 GB.

How can I verify the Intel UHD Graphics 620 is active after installing an OS?

Open Device Manager in Windows or run lspci on Linux; the adapter will appear as Intel UHD Graphics 620 once the correct driver loads.

Does the box include a 2.5" SATA drive caddy or do I need one for the 2 TB SSD?

The 2 TB SSD is already fitted in the 2.5" SATA bay, so no extra caddy is required for that drive.
