ThinkPad T480 14.0" FHD laptop

This Lenovo ThinkPad T480 is a 14.0-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with a base speed of 2.60 GHz and a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz. The system includes 16GB of DDR4 memory and a new 1TB 2.5-inch SATA SSD. It is sold without an operating system installed.

Dual SODIMM slots and 2.5" SATA bay

The laptop provides two memory slots with 16GB already installed and supports a maximum of 32GB. This layout allows a straightforward memory upgrade without removing the original modules. Storage uses a standard 2.5-inch SATA interface, so the included 1TB SSD can be swapped or supplemented if the chassis permits a second drive. Intel HD Graphics 620 handles the display output.

16GB RAM and 1TB SSD capacity

The 16GB of DDR4 memory handles typical office workloads, web browsing and multitasking with headroom to expand to 32GB. The 1TB SATA SSD offers ample space for applications and local files while delivering solid-state responsiveness. Integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 suits 2D productivity and video playback but is not designed for 3D rendering or modern gaming. Buyers needing discrete graphics or an operating system pre-installed should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the dual-core i5-7300U throttle under sustained loads?

The dual-core i5-7300U runs at a 2.60 GHz base and can reach 3.50 GHz turbo, but prolonged heavy work will hit thermal limits and reduce clocks.

How loud and hot does the T480 get when running all day?

With Intel HD Graphics 620 and a low-power CPU the chassis stays warm rather than hot, and fan noise stays at a low hum during typical office tasks.

What must I already own to use this laptop since it has no operating system?

You need a Windows or Linux installation USB and a valid licence key, because the unit ships with no operating system installed.
