ThinkPad T480s 14-inch business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch laptop built for professionals who need a reliable Windows 7 Pro machine. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with a base clock of 1.60 GHz and a turbo frequency up to 3.40 GHz. The system includes 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD for fast storage. A 14.0-inch IPS FHD matte display with 1920 x 1080 resolution provides clear visuals in office or mobile settings.

Ready to use with fingerprint security

The laptop arrives fully assembled with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed, so no operating system setup is required. An integrated match-on-chip fingerprint reader handles secure log-in without extra drivers. The 4G LTE WWAN module connects to cellular networks where Wi-Fi is unavailable. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C supports data transfer up to 40 Gbps and video output through a single cable.

Suits mobile workers needing Windows 7

This configuration suits buyers who must run legacy Windows 7 Pro applications on a lightweight, tested chassis that has passed 21 MIL-SPEC checks. It is not suited for users who need a touchscreen, a newer Windows version out of the box, or a dedicated graphics processor for heavy 3D work. The non-touch matte panel and UltraNav pointing devices favour traditional keyboard-and-trackpoint workflows.

Questions about this item

How do I verify the 8th-generation Intel Core i5-8250U is running at its 3.4 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager's Performance tab and watch the CPU clock reach 3.4 GHz under load; the integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics will also appear there.

What ships in the box and what must I buy separately?

The laptop, AC adapter and documentation are included; no external peripherals or docking station are supplied.

Which configuration should I choose if I need both maximum local storage and WWAN mobility?

This single SKU already combines the 1 TB SSD, 16 GB DDR4 memory and 4G LTE WWAN in one unit.
