Questions about this item

How long can the i5-8250U sustain its 3.4 GHz turbo before it drops back?

The i5-8250U is rated for a maximum turbo of 3.4 GHz; sustained clocks depend on the cooling solution and workload, so the processor will throttle when its thermal limit is reached.

How loud does the fan get and how hot does the chassis become during an all-day workload?

Under continuous load the fan spins up to move heat away from the CPU and the keyboard deck warms noticeably, but the system stays within its thermal design envelope.

What cables or peripherals must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port?

You need a Thunderbolt 3 certified cable or device with a USB-C connector to get the full 40 Gbps bandwidth and power delivery.
