Business ultraportable with 8th-gen Intel Core i5

The ThinkPad T480s pairs an Intel Core i5-8250U running at 1.60 GHz with 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. A 14.0-inch IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution on a matte finish. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, a fingerprint reader and a backlit keyboard complete the business-ready package.

Upgrade from heavier 14-inch notebooks

The quad-core processor reaches 3.40 GHz for multi-threaded workloads while the chassis weighs as little as 2.9 lbs. Thunderbolt over USB-C supplies 40 Gbps bandwidth for docks and external GPUs. The jump makes sense when daily carry weight and single-cable docking matter more than discrete graphics.

8 GB soldered memory and 256 GB solid-state storage

The configuration handles office suites, video calls and light virtualization without paging. Heavy compilation, large datasets or multiple VMs will exhaust the fixed 8 GB ceiling. Storage fits the OS, core apps and active projects; archival media or big game libraries require external drives.
