Business laptop for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch Windows 10 Pro notebook built for daily office work and travel. It ships new with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor, 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 500 GB SSD. The matte IPS panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics handle standard business applications. Bluetooth 4.1 and a fingerprint reader are included.

500 GB SSD capacity and 8 GB soldered memory

The single specification that decides fit is the 500 GB solid-state drive paired with 8 GB of DDR4 that cannot be upgraded. Buyers who need more storage or more than 8 GB of RAM cannot expand this unit. The processor reaches 3.4 GHz maximum turbo frequency from a 1.60 GHz base. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C provides 40 Gbps data bandwidth for external drives or docks.

Simple deployment with one common pitfall

Windows 10 Pro is pre-installed so the laptop is ready to join a domain or use BitLocker out of the box. The 21 MIL-SPEC tests indicate rugged construction for field use. The non-touch matte screen avoids glare but does not support pen input. The 4G LTE WWAN slot requires a compatible nano-SIM and carrier plan to activate mobile broadband.
