Business ultraportable for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch laptop built for executives and remote workers who need a lightweight Windows 7 Professional machine with an Intel Core i7-8550U processor and 24GB of DDR4 memory. Its 512GB NVMe SSD provides fast storage for large project files and applications.

Single Thunderbolt 3 port expands connectivity

One Thunderbolt 3 connection delivers up to 40 Gbps data transfer, dual video bandwidth and power delivery through a USB-C interface, letting you attach docks, external GPUs or high-resolution monitors without extra adapters. Four standard USB ports and Bluetooth 4.1 handle legacy peripherals and wireless accessories simultaneously.

MIL-SPEC chassis sustains performance under load

The system passes 21 durability tests covering shock, vibration and temperature extremes, so the Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics and quad-core CPU maintain stable clocks during long compile sessions or video calls. A fingerprint reader and webcam privacy shutter keep authentication secure without throttling resources.

Questions about this item

How long can the Core i7-8550U sustain its 4.0 GHz boost before heat forces it down?

The 8550U runs at a 1.80 GHz base and can reach 4.0 GHz on short bursts; sustained all-core speeds drop lower once the cooling system saturates.

What fan noise and surface temperature should I expect after hours of load?

The 14.0" chassis uses a compact dual-fan design; under continuous load the fans become audible and the keyboard deck warms noticeably.

Which dock or port replicator works with the Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C connectors?

Any Thunderbolt 3 dock delivering up to 40 Gbps and power delivery will drive video, data and charging through the single USB-C port.
