Business Laptop for Mobile Professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch business laptop powered by an Intel Core i5-8250U processor running at 1.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz maximum turbo frequency. It comes with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 180 GB SSD. The matte IPS display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Suited for Office Work, Not Heavy Workloads

This configuration serves professionals who need a lightweight, durable machine for document editing, email, web browsing and video calls. The integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics and modest 180 GB storage capacity make it unsuitable for buyers who want more storage, users who require discrete graphics for rendering or gaming, or anyone needing a larger high-refresh display.

Thunderbolt 3 Over USB-C Decides Connectivity

The single most decisive specification is the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, which provides 40 Gbps bandwidth for external GPUs, dual 4K displays or high-speed docks. If your workflow depends on that expansion capability, this laptop fits; if you only need standard USB-A peripherals, the extra bandwidth goes unused.

Questions about this item

Will my existing USB-A peripherals work with the 4 USB ports on this ThinkPad T480s?

The laptop provides four USB ports that accept standard USB-A plugs, so current keyboards, mice and flash drives connect without adapters.

How can I confirm the Intel Core i5-8250U is reaching its 3.40 GHz turbo speed after setup?

Open Task Manager’s Performance tab or a monitoring utility such as HWMonitor and watch the clock speed climb toward 3.40 GHz during a heavy single-thread load.

Which accessories are included in the box and what must I purchase separately?

The shipment contains the laptop, its AC adapter and standard documentation; items such as a Thunderbolt 3 dock, external monitor or additional memory modules are not included.
