Business-Ready ThinkPad T480s

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch business laptop equipped with an Intel Core i5-8250U processor running at 1.60 GHz. It ships with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB SATA M.2 solid-state drive. The matte IPS display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Sustained Workload Behaviour

The quad-core i5-8250U can reach 3.40 GHz under load, though thermal limits in the slim chassis will throttle clocks during extended heavy tasks. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics handle desktop productivity and video playback but are not suited for 3D rendering or gaming. The 21 MIL-SPEC tests confirm the platform tolerates vibration, temperature extremes and humidity during continuous operation.

Thunderbolt 3 Practical Limits

A single Thunderbolt 3 port provides up to 40 Gbps of bandwidth for data and dual 4K video output while also supplying power. Real-world throughput depends on cable quality, device controller and the PCIe lane allocation of the connected peripheral. The USB-C connector also carries standard USB 3.1 traffic when a Thunderbolt device is not attached.
