Business ultraportable with high memory

The ThinkPad T480s combines an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. The 14 inch IPS display shows 1920 x 1080 resolution on a matte panel. Integrated UHD 620 graphics handle everyday visual tasks. Windows 7 Professional comes pre-installed for legacy application compatibility. A fingerprint reader and WWAN module support secure mobile workflows.

Sustained workload thermal profile

The 8250U runs at 1.60 GHz base and can reach 3.4 GHz turbo under light loads. During extended multi-threaded work the processor will throttle to stay within its thermal envelope. The compact chassis limits cooling capacity so prolonged compiles or renders run at lower clocks than brief bursts. Fan noise increases noticeably when the system sustains high utilisation for several minutes.

Compatibility checks before purchase

Verify that Windows 7 Professional meets your software and security requirements as mainstream support has ended. Confirm your peripherals work with the available USB and Thunderbolt ports. The soldered memory cannot be upgraded beyond the installed 24 GB. WWAN functionality requires a compatible nano-SIM and an active data plan from a carrier.
