Ready for Business Use

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0 inch mainstream laptop built for professional environments. It ships new with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and an Intel Core i5-8250U processor running at 1.60 GHz with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.40 GHz. The system includes 8 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD for fast storage access.

Upgrade From Older Systems

This unit replaces ageing laptops that lack modern connectivity or solid-state speed. The jump is worth it when you need Thunderbolt at 40 Gbps for high-bandwidth peripherals and Bluetooth 4.1 for current wireless accessories. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics handle standard office workloads without a discrete GPU.

Build Integration

The 14 inch IPS FHD matte display at 1920 x 1080 resolution offers clear visuals in a chassis weighing between 2 and 2.9 lbs. A fingerprint reader and webcam cover support physical security policies. Four USB ports, an SD card reader, and the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port provide flexible docking options for desk setups.

Questions about this item

What SSD form factor fits the ThinkPad T480s?

The laptop ships with a 1 TB PCIe NVMe drive in an M.2 slot; only NVMe drives of the same physical length will install correctly.

Which step do owners often miss when adding memory to this model?

The 8 GB of DDR4 is soldered to the board, so there is no SO-DIMM slot to populate — capacity cannot be increased after purchase.

When will the internal battery need replacement?

The integrated lithium-polymer pack is rated for hundreds of charge cycles; typical business use reaches that point after several years of daily charging.
