Business laptop with 12GB memory and 2TB NVMe

The ThinkPad T480s combines an Intel Core i7-8550U processor with 12GB DDR4 RAM and a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD. A 14.0" IPS FHD matte display runs at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, fingerprint reader, 4G LTE WWAN and Thunderbolt 3 complete the specification for mobile professionals.

Check OS support and port needs before ordering

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit is pre-installed; Microsoft ended mainstream support so verify your software compatibility. Confirm Bluetooth 4.1 meets peripheral requirements. Four USB ports include Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C; ensure any dock or monitor uses a compatible cable. The non-touch matte screen suits glare-sensitive environments but offers no pen input.

Fits ultra-portable workflows needing LTE

At 2.9 lbs maximum weight the chassis suits frequent travel. Thunderbolt 3 enables single-cable docks, external GPUs or dual 4K displays without extra adapters. 2TB NVMe capacity removes the need for external drives on large projects. WWAN slot provides cellular connectivity where Wi-Fi is unavailable. Not suited for buyers who need touchscreen interaction, discrete graphics performance or a current Windows release.

Questions about this item

Does the box include the power adapter and cable, or must I buy them separately?

The laptop ships with its AC adapter and power cord included, so no separate purchase is needed for charging.

Should I choose the 12 GB DDR4 configuration or look for a larger memory option?

The 12 GB DDR4 is the only memory capacity offered for this unit; it cannot be upgraded later because the memory is soldered to the board.

How does the Intel Core i7-8550U at 1.80 GHz up to 4.00 GHz perform in daily office workloads?

The quad-core processor with 8 MB cache handles multitasking, web browsing and document editing smoothly, and its Turbo Boost to 4.00 GHz provides extra speed for short bursts.
