Ready for business workloads

The ThinkPad T480s pairs an 8th-generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB SSD. Windows 7 Professional is pre-installed for legacy application compatibility. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics drive the 14-inch IPS display at 1920 x 1080 resolution. A fingerprint reader and 4G LTE WWAN module support secure, mobile productivity.

24 GB memory and 256 GB storage headroom

The 24 GB DDR4 configuration handles heavy multitasking, large spreadsheets and multiple virtual machines without paging. The 256 GB SSD provides fast boot and application load times for the operating system and active projects. Storage-intensive workloads such as local video editing or large database files will require external or cloud capacity. The 4.0 GHz maximum turbo frequency sustains burst performance for demanding single-thread tasks.

Thunderbolt 3 expands connectivity

A single Thunderbolt 3 port delivers up to 40 Gbps bandwidth for high-speed storage, dual 4K displays or docking solutions while supplying power. Four USB ports and Bluetooth 4.1 cover peripherals without a hub. The 14.0-inch chassis weighs between 2 and 2.9 lbs, leaving bag space for accessories. Buyers who need more internal storage, a touchscreen or a newer Windows version should consider other models.

Questions about this item

Will the 24 GB DDR4 memory and Thunderbolt 3 port work with my existing peripherals and older USB-C dock?

The laptop includes 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a Thunderbolt 3 port that supports USB-C devices. The port delivers up to 40 Gbps data transfer and video output while supplying power. Compatibility with older docks depends on the dock's own specifications.

How can I verify the Intel Core i7-8550U processor and 4G LTE WWAN are functioning correctly after setup?

Open Task Manager to confirm the i7-8550U shows 4 cores and 8 threads with a base speed of 1.80 GHz. Insert an active SIM card; the WWAN adapter should appear in Device Manager and connect to a mobile network when configured in Windows 7 Pro network settings.

What accessories are included in the box and what must I purchase separately?

The system ships with the ThinkPad T480s unit, a 14" IPS FHD 1920x1080 matte display, 256 GB SSD, 24 GB DDR4 RAM, fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 4.1, webcam, ThinkPad UltraNav touchpad and backlit keyboard. Power adapter, SIM card and any Thunderbolt 3 cables or docks are separate purchases.
