Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Core i7-8550U get when the laptop runs all day?

The processor operates at a base frequency of 1.80 GHz and can boost up to 4.0 GHz. Under sustained load the fan spins up, but the MIL-SPEC tested chassis is designed to manage heat without throttling during extended business use.

What must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port on this ThinkPad?

A Thunderbolt 3 cable and a compatible Thunderbolt 3 device such as a dock, external GPU enclosure or high-speed storage array. The USB-C port delivers up to 40 Gbps data bandwidth and can supply power to the connected device.

Will my older USB-A peripherals work with the four USB ports on this T480s?

Yes. The laptop provides four USB ports that support legacy USB-A devices. You can connect existing mice, keyboards, printers or flash drives directly without adapters.
