Ultraportable work laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0" ultraportable designed for professionals who need a lightweight Windows 10 device with a touchscreen. It integrates an 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8650U processor with vPro, 8 GB of soldered DDR4 2400 memory and a 128 GB SATA SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS panel delivers 250 nits brightness and anti-glare coating.

Upgrade from older ultraportables

This model replaces earlier 14" business notebooks that used dual-core U-series chips and lower-resolution non-touch displays. The quad-core i7-8650U and 8 GB DDR4 provide a clear step up for multi-tasking and modern office workloads. The jump is worth it when your current machine struggles with concurrent video calls, large spreadsheets or slow boot times on a mechanical drive.

128 GB SSD and 8 GB RAM headroom

The 128 GB SATA SSD handles the operating system, core applications and a modest working set of documents without difficulty. Capacity runs out quickly with local media libraries, virtual machines or large creative project files. The 8 GB of soldered DDR4 2400 memory covers typical productivity and browser loads; it becomes a constraint when running containers, heavy development environments or multiple virtual machines simultaneously.

Questions about this item

What size SATA SSD fits the 20L7S37600 storage slot?

How is the 8 GB DDR4 2400 memory installed, and what mistake should I avoid?

The 8 GB DDR4 2400 is soldered to the board, so it cannot be upgraded; do not buy SO-DIMMs expecting to add more.
