Business laptop for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s ships new with Windows 7 Professional, an Intel Core i5-8250U processor reaching 3.4 GHz, 12 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB SATA SSD. A 14.0 inch IPS display at 1920 x 1080 resolution provides a matte finish suited to office lighting.

Suits users needing legacy OS compatibility

Buyers who require a supported operating system or Thunderbolt 3 speeds of 40 Gbps should look elsewhere. The configuration also lacks a touchscreen and discrete graphics, limiting its fit for modern creative workloads.

Standard clamshell installation

Initial configuration involves accepting the Windows 7 licence, enrolling fingerprints on the match-on-chip reader and pairing Bluetooth 4.1 peripherals. Driver availability for the older OS can complicate later hardware additions.
