Business laptop for secure mobile work

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14-inch mainstream notebook built for professionals who need Windows 7 Professional on modern hardware. It combines an Intel Core i7-8550U processor with 12 GB of DDR4 memory and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD for responsive everyday performance.

Windows 7 Professional on 8th-generation Intel Core

This unit ships with a genuine Windows 7 Pro 64-bit licence, a configuration increasingly rare on current hardware. The operating system runs on the i7-8550U quad-core CPU with Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics and the 1920 x 1080 IPS matte display.

Standard ThinkPad serviceability

The chassis allows straightforward access to the single SSD slot and memory modules for upgrades or replacement. The match-on-chip fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter webcam cover provide hardware-level login protection, while Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C handles high-speed docking and 40 Gbps data transfer.

Questions about this item

How does the 1.80 GHz base clock and 4.0 GHz boost translate to everyday workloads on the i7-8550U?

The quad-core i7-8550U runs at 1.80 GHz base and can reach 4.0 GHz on short bursts, so office apps and web browsing stay responsive while heavier tasks get a temporary speed lift.

What does the Thunderbolt 3 port at 40 Gbps actually let me connect?

The Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port delivers up to 40 Gbps, enabling fast external SSDs, dual 4K displays or a dock with power delivery through a single cable.

Will the 14.0 inch chassis accept a standard 2.5 inch drive upgrade?

The T480s uses a soldered 12 GB DDR4 configuration and a single M.2 256 GB NVMe slot; there is no 2.5 inch bay, so storage expansion is limited to replacing the M.2 module.
