Professional portable workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a 14 inch business laptop built for professionals who need reliable performance while travelling. Its quad-core Intel Core i7-8565U processor reaches 4.6GHz turbo frequency for demanding office workloads. The 14.0 inch IPS FHD display delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution with wide viewing angles. Windows 10 Pro provides enterprise-grade management features out of the box.

Quad-core processor with high turbo

The Intel Core i7-8565U runs at 1.80GHz base and boosts to 4.6GHz across four cores, deciding how quickly the system handles heavy multitasking and burst workloads. Integrated Intel UHD Graphics drives the 1080p panel without a discrete GPU. Eight megabytes of smart cache supports the 10nm architecture. This CPU profile suits single-threaded business applications and moderate parallel tasks.

24GB DDR4 and 2TB NVMe headroom

Twenty-four gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a 2TB NVMe SSD give ample capacity for large datasets, virtual machines and extensive local file libraries. The 720p webcam supports video calls while the fingerprint reader adds biometric security. Thunderbolt and HDMI ports enable dual external displays. Non-touch IPS screen and lack of discrete graphics limit intensive 3D or creative rendering workflows.

Questions about this item

What does the 4.6GHz turbo frequency mean once the i7-8565U is inside the T490?

The 4.6GHz turbo is the peak single-core speed the i7-8565U can reach when thermals allow; sustained multi-core workloads will run lower.

What does the Thunderbolt port on this T490 actually support?

The Thunderbolt port provides high-speed data, video output and charging through a single USB-C connector.

What physical space does the 2TB NVMe drive occupy in the T490?

The 2TB NVMe SSD fits in the internal M.2 slot, leaving the 2.5-inch bay empty for future storage expansion.
