Business-ready Ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 is a new 14.0-inch laptop built for users who need a lightweight Windows 7 Professional machine with a fingerprint reader. It combines an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, 8GB of memory and a 1TB NVMe SSD in a carbon-fibre reinforced chassis weighing 2.49 lbs.

Thunderbolt 3 reaches 40Gbps over USB-C

The single Thunderbolt 3 port delivers up to 40Gbps of bandwidth for data and charging, quadrupling the data throughput and doubling the video bandwidth of other USB-C implementations. Bluetooth 4.1 handles short-range wireless peripherals while the four USB ports cover legacy accessories.

Soldered 8GB RAM cannot be upgraded

The 8GB memory is fixed on the motherboard so buyers who need more than 8GB for virtual machines or large datasets must choose a different system. The 1TB NVMe SSD and 1920x1080 IPS display are the other primary specifications that define this configuration.
