Product identity

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 9th Gen is a 14.0-inch business ultrabook built around an 11th Generation Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor with four cores and eight threads. It ships with 32GB of soldered LPDDR4x memory and a 256GB M.2 PCIe solid-state drive. The 3840x2400 IPS display reaches 500 nits brightness and includes an IR webcam with ThinkShutter for Windows Hello sign-in.

Who it suits and who it does not

Mobile professionals who value a lightweight chassis, long battery life from the 57Whr cell, and Thunderbolt 4 connectivity for docks or external monitors will find this configuration ready for office workloads and video conferencing. Buyers who need user-replaceable memory, a larger internal drive, or a discrete graphics processor for intensive 3D rendering or gaming should look at alternative designs.

Deciding specification

The 32GB of LPDDR4x memory is permanently soldered to the system board and cannot be upgraded after purchase, so the amount chosen at order time fixes the laptop's capacity for its entire service life.
