Premium business ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 is a 14.0 inch laptop built around an Intel Core i7-1185G7 quad-core processor running at 3.00 GHz. It ships with 16 GB of LPDDR4x memory and a 512 GB SSD. Integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics drive the 1920 x 1200 display. The unit weighs 2.4900 kg and includes Windows 11 Home. Condition is new, though battery health is low and may need service.

Upgrade from heavier legacy notebooks

This model replaces older business laptops that use thicker chassis and lower-resolution 16:9 screens. The jump is worth it when you need the 16:10 aspect ratio for document work and the lighter carbon-fiber frame for daily carry. Buyers who want more storage than 512 GB or who require discrete graphics for rendering should look elsewhere. The sealed memory also prevents future RAM expansion.

Straightforward deployment with one caveat

Windows 11 Home is pre-installed, so the laptop is ready for domain join or Autopilot enrolment out of the box. The only common issue is the disclosed low battery health, which means runtime on battery will be reduced until the pack is serviced or swapped. No hardware assembly is required; simply configure policies and encrypt the drive.

Questions about this item

What screw pattern does the 14.0" chassis use for internal access?

The carbon-fibre chassis is secured with standard ThinkPad Phillips screws; remove the bottom cover to reach the 512 GB SSD slot and cooling assembly.

Which step do owners often skip when reinstalling Windows 11 Home on the 512 GB SSD?

After the clean install, the Intel Iris Xe graphics driver and Lenovo Vantage power-management package must be added manually or the 16 GB LPDDR4x memory will not run at its rated speed.

How can the low battery health be resolved once the original pack drops below usable capacity?

Order a genuine Lenovo replacement battery for the Gen 9 chassis, power down the laptop, swap the pack using the same Phillips screws, then calibrate with a full charge cycle.
