Purpose-built ultrabook

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 20XW004KUS is a 14" business ultrabook running Windows 10 Pro. It targets professionals who need a lightweight carbon-fibre chassis that passes durability tests in extreme environments. The system ships with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB SSD for everyday productivity.

Integrated graphics ceiling

Visual output relies on Intel Iris Xe Graphics, which shares system memory and suits office applications, video playback and light creative tasks. The WUXGA panel at 1920 x 1200 resolution provides a 16:10 workspace, but the integrated GPU cannot sustain high frame rates in modern 3D titles or accelerate heavy compute workloads.

Fixed 16 GB memory

The 16 GB capacity is soldered and cannot be upgraded, so buyers who anticipate memory-intensive virtualisation, large dataset analysis or future-proofing beyond current requirements should consider a different configuration. The 256 GB SSD and quad-core i5-1135G7 at 2.40 GHz complete the platform.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 16 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD configuration or look for a different capacity?

This model comes with 16 GB of memory and a 256 GB solid-state drive as standard. The RAM is soldered and cannot be upgraded later, so select this version if that capacity meets your workload.

What does the Core i5-1135G7 2.40 GHz quad-core processor deliver in daily use?

The four-core chip runs at a 2.40 GHz base frequency and handles typical business tasks such as office suites, video calls and web browsing with responsive performance.

Which display interface does the 1920 x 1200 WUXGA panel use and what does it limit?

The 14-inch 1920 x 1200 screen is driven by integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics, which caps external display support to the capabilities of that graphics engine.
