Built for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 pairs an Intel Core i7-7600U processor reaching 3.9 GHz with 8 GB of memory and a 512 GB NVMe PCIe SSD. A 14.0" WQHD IPS display at 2560 x 1440 resolution runs Windows 7 Professional. The non-touch screen suits analysts, writers and consultants who need sharp text and colour accuracy without glare.

Carbon-fibre chassis tested to 12 military-grade

Four layers of carbon-fibre reinforcement and a magnesium alloy roll-cage survive more than 200 durability checks while the system weighs 2.49 lbs. Four USB ports include Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C for 40 Gbps data, charging and video. Bluetooth 4.1 handles peripherals. The ThinkPad UltraNav touchpad and fingerprint reader stay familiar for long-time ThinkPad users.

Fingerprint reader replaces password entry

The touch sensor logs you into Windows 7 Pro faster than typing and resists spoofing better than swipe sensors. Thunderbolt 3 lets a single cable drive external monitors and power the laptop simultaneously. UltraNav keeps cursor control on the home row so workflow stays uninterrupted during travel.
