Ultraportable ThinkPad for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon combines a carbon-fibre reinforced chassis with a magnesium alloy roll-cage that meets twelve military-grade requirements and passes more than two hundred durability tests. It weighs 2.49 lbs and ships with Windows 10 Pro, making it a lightweight yet rugged choice for business users who need reliability on the move.

Thunderbolt 3 connectivity for docks and displays

A single USB-C port carries Thunderbolt 3 at up to 40Gbps, providing four times the data bandwidth and twice the video bandwidth of other port types for charging, external storage and multiple monitors. The system also includes Bluetooth 4.1 for wireless peripherals and the signature ThinkPad UltraNav pointing system with TrackPoint and touchpad.

Efficient cooling in a slim chassis

The Intel Core i7-7500U dual-core processor runs at up to 3.5 GHz within a fan-cooled ultrabook body that stays quiet during typical office workloads. The 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD and 8GB of soldered memory produce minimal heat, while the 14.0-inch WQHD IPS display at 2560 x 1440 draws modest power for extended battery life.

Questions about this item

How hot or loud does the Core i7-7500U get during an all-day workload?

The 14" WQHD IPS chassis weighs 2.49 lbs and is tested against 12 military-grade requirements with more than 200 durability checks; the carbon-fiber reinforced frame and magnesium alloy roll-cage are designed to dissipate heat without a noisy fan profile under typical office loads.

What peripherals or cables must I already own to use the Thunderbolt 3 port for charging and data?

You need a Thunderbolt 3-certified cable or dock that supports up to 40 Gbps and USB-C Power Delivery; standard USB-C cables without the Thunderbolt logo will not deliver the full 40 Gbps bandwidth or the charging capability described.
