Portable business laptop with touch display

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch laptop built for mobile professionals who need a durable chassis and a responsive touchscreen. It ships with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and includes a pen for direct input on the HD panel. The design supports shared docking stations across compatible ThinkPad series.

16GB DDR3 memory and 1TB solid-state storage

Sixteen gigabytes of DDR3 RAM provide headroom for multiple business applications and browser tabs running at once. The 1TB SSD offers ample space for local files and fast boot times without a mechanical hard drive. Integrated graphics use shared system memory, so heavy 3D workloads or modern gaming will exhaust video resources quickly.

Upgrade from older Core i3 or 4GB configurations

Moving from a dual-core Core i3 system with 4GB of memory to this Core i7-2640M processor at up to 3.50 GHz turbo frequency delivers a clear jump in multitasking responsiveness. The switch to a 1TB SSD from a smaller mechanical drive removes storage bottlenecks. Buyers who need a newer operating system or dedicated graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Will the VGA and DisplayPort outputs on the ThinkPad X220 drive an older 1366x768 monitor at native resolution?

Yes, both the VGA and DisplayPort connectors support 1366x768 output, so an older HD monitor will run at its native resolution without scaling.

How can I verify the Core i7-2640M is reaching its 3.50 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open Task Manager or a hardware monitor while running a demanding task; the CPU clock should show 3.50 GHz when thermal headroom allows.

Does the package include the ThinkPad docking connector and the pen for the 12.5" touch display?

The laptop has a built-in docking connector; the pen is included with this Touch + Pen configuration.
