Lenovo ThinkPad X220 Touch Laptop

This 12.5" business laptop ships new with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. An Intel Core i7-2640M processor runs at up to 3.50 GHz with 4M cache. A 1366x768 HD touchscreen supports pen input. 16GB DDR3 memory and a 2TB SSD handle local workloads.

Suits mobile professionals needing legacy OS

Buyers who need a modern operating system, higher-resolution display, or current-generation processor architecture should look elsewhere. The 12.5" form factor limits screen real-estate for multi-window tasks. Shared video memory restricts graphics-intensive applications.

2TB SSD capacity decides fit

The single 2TB solid-state drive determines whether this unit can store the required project files and applications without external storage. No additional drive bays are present. Verify that the total capacity meets the workload before purchase.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 2TB SSD version or a smaller drive?

The 2TB SSD is the only capacity listed for this X220 configuration; it provides the full storage amount shipped with the unit.

What does the 3.50 GHz turbo frequency deliver in daily use?

The Core i7-2640M can reach 3.50 GHz on short bursts, giving snappy response for office applications and web browsing.

What does the 802.11b/g/n wireless adapter limit in practice?

The wireless adapter uses the 802.11b/g/n standard, so maximum link speeds are lower than the wired 1000Mbps LAN port.
