ThinkPad X220 Touch Business Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch business laptop with a touch-enabled HD display and an Intel Core i7-2640M processor reaching 3.50 GHz. It ships with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard drive. Connectivity includes Gigabit LAN, 802.11b/g/n wireless, three USB ports, VGA, DisplayPort and a docking connector.

Suits mobile professionals needing pen input

This machine fits users who want a compact Touch and pen-capable device for VoIP calls, document review and legacy Windows 7 software. The shared video memory and 4GB RAM limit heavy creative suites, virtualisation or modern gaming. Buyers who need more storage, faster solid-state storage or a higher-resolution panel should look at something else.

500GB hard drive and 4GB DDR3 headroom

The 500GB drive holds a typical office document library, email archives and basic media with room to spare. Four gigabytes of DDR3 handles single-application workloads and light multitasking comfortably. Memory-intensive tasks such as large spreadsheets, multiple browser tabs or virtual machines will exhaust the available RAM, and the mechanical drive becomes a bottleneck for boot and load times.
