ThinkPad X220 Touch Business Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch touchscreen laptop built for mobile professionals who need a compact Windows 10 Pro machine with pen input support. It suits users who value the classic ThinkPad keyboard and a durable chassis for daily office tasks.

Core i7-2640M Processor

The system runs on an Intel Core i7-2640M dual-core CPU with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz and 4 MB cache. This specific processor determines whether the laptop can handle your workload, as the memory and storage are not user-expandable beyond the factory configuration.

Sustained Performance Profile

Under continuous load the processor maintains clocks within its thermal envelope using the integrated cooling solution and shared system memory for graphics. The 128 GB SSD keeps the operating system responsive during extended sessions, while the 8 GB DDR3 RAM provides a fixed ceiling for concurrent applications. Buyers who need more storage or memory capacity should consider a different model.

Questions about this item

What does the 3.50 GHz turbo speed mean for everyday tasks?

The Core i7-2640M can reach 3.50 GHz on short bursts, so office apps and web browsing feel snappy while the chip stays cool during longer workloads.

What does the single DisplayPort output cap in practice?

The DisplayPort supports external monitors up to the panel's native 1366x768 resolution; higher resolutions are not supported by this port.

How does the 12.5 inch touchscreen affect the laptop's footprint?

The 12.5 inch display keeps the chassis compact enough for airline trays while still leaving room for the classic ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint.
