Portable business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch business laptop with a touch display and included pen. It runs Windows 10 Professional on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor with 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 1TB hard drive. The HD panel shows 1366x768 resolution using shared video memory. It suits mobile professionals who need a durable, keyboard-focused machine for office applications and communication.

Setup checks before ordering

Verify that your peripherals match the available ports: three USB sockets, one VGA output and one DisplayPort output. The laptop includes a docking connector compatible with ThinkPad T, L and W series docks for shared workspaces. Network connectivity relies on Gigabit LAN and 802.11b/g/n wireless. The system ships with a 64-bit operating system already installed.

Sustained-load behaviour

The dual-core processor reaches a turbo frequency of 3.50 GHz for short bursts but will throttle under continuous heavy workloads due to the compact chassis. Shared system memory means graphics tasks draw from the same 8GB pool used by applications. The mechanical hard drive provides large capacity but slower sustained transfer rates than solid-state storage. Active Protection System helps safeguard the drive during movement.

Questions about this item

Does the ThinkPad X220 include a pen for the 12.5" touch display or must I buy it separately?

The supplier title lists a pen tablet computer, indicating the pen is included in the box with the 12.5" HD touch display.

Should I choose the 8 GB DDR3 and 1 TB HDD configuration or look for an SSD version?

This unit ships with 8 GB DDR3 memory and a 1 TB hard drive; no SSD is installed, so capacity is fixed unless you upgrade the drive yourself.
