ThinkPad X220 i7 business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch business laptop with an Intel Core i7-2640M processor reaching 3.50 GHz turbo frequency. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 256GB solid-state drive. The HD touch display runs at 1366x768 resolution using shared system memory for graphics.

Verify docking and port needs

This unit includes a docking connector compatible with ThinkPad T, L and W series docks, plus one VGA and one DisplayPort video output. Three USB ports and gigabit LAN are available for peripherals and wired networking. Wireless connectivity uses 802.11b/g/n; check that your network infrastructure supports these standards before ordering.

Sustained load thermal behaviour

Under continuous workloads the dual-core i7-2640M maintains performance within the X220 chassis thermal limits. The Active Protection System and redesigned hinge add structural rigidity during extended mobile use. Shared video memory means graphics-intensive tasks draw from the 8GB system pool, so memory pressure rises during long rendering or multi-monitor sessions.
